Kate Middleton and Prince William Are Celebrating Their Third Wedding Anniversary Today at Home

It's been three years since the day all (erm, many) Americans set their alarms for five A.M. and woke up to watch Kate Middleton and Prince William tie the knot. Yes, three years since we collectively became familiar with Pippa Middleton (who would set a new standard for bridesmaid show-stealing), Grace Van Cutsem (who we hope has a coffee-table book deal in the works, off of her impressive meme-spawning), and Ellie Goulding (who was hand-picked to sing "Your Song" at the reception). No doubt you're already celebrating by wearing your replica Princess Beatrice hat this morning, re-watching the YouTube mashup you made of royal-wedding clips set to Taylor Swift's "Love Story." (It's O.K., this is a safe space: we can all be open and honest.)
But how are the royal couple themselves celebrating this special day? They are resting! Presumably exhausted after their three-week, multiple-appearances-a-day tour of Australia and New Zealand, which concluded on Friday, William and Kate are reportedly taking it easy today and spending their anniversary "privately," according to the Daily Beast. Last year, the couple spent their anniversary apart, as William was off in Wales, fulfilling his duties as a R.A.F. search-and-rescue pilot, while Kate made an appearance at a children's hospice in Hampshire. The Mirror suggests the pair may be "catching up with the Middletons" today, "reuniting them with baby George to show them how much he's grown." (Though now that he's a global superstar, we hear Prince George is charging $10K for an hourlong appearance, and his rider includes gold-plated pacifiers and a hologram of George the bilby.)

The Daily Mail reports that William gave Kate a £3,600 Cartier watch-"embedded with a sapphire stone to match her Princess Diana engagement ring"-shortly before they departed for New Zealand, which served as an "early anniversary present." The outlet notes that the gift is "not just a love token though," as, "it was particularly useful" for keeping Kate-who People reports will soon be seeing a "significant upsurge" in her royal duties-"to time." ("She is notorious for chatting so much during walkabouts that the Duke is left waiting for her to catch up - a fact he does not let her forget.") We just hope William isn't planning to gift her any clothes today ("This is a muted dress I picked out that does not resemble a fruit in any way!"), as we do not see that going over well.
