MTN Donates N100m Mobile Clinic To Delta
Telecommunications giant, MTN, yesterday, boosted the healthcare scheme of the Delta State Government when it handed over an ultra-modern amobile clinic to the government under its MTN foundation programme
Executive secretary of MTNF, Nonny Ugboma, who handed over the facility to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan in Asaba, told journalists that the facility was worth over N100 million, adding that it was aimed at providing effective healthcare services to rural dwellers.
She disclosed that the foundation had since its inauguration in 2004, expended over N9 billion in executing various projects in 338 communities across the federation. Ugboma said that the mobile clinic donation was under the first phase of the MTNF Y’ello Doctor Mobile Medical Intervention Scheme.
Describing health as one of the areas where the private sector can play a visible role, he said that the organisation would continue to contribute to the efforts of the federal and state ministries of health to improve overall health care delivery in the country.
Inaugurating the facility, Governor Uduaghan who commended the telecommunication service provider for its corporate social responsibility, especially in the health sector, said the mobile clinic would go a long way in addressing the health care needs of the rural populace.
