Woman Remanded In Custody Over Neighbour’s Death
A 38-year-old woman, Oladiti Fadekemi, has been remanded in prison custody by an Osogbo Magistrate Court for allegedly killing her neighbor. Fadekemi was alleged to have killed one Adeniran Adeyemi of Igbogi Street, Ilesa in Osun State.
The police prosecutor, Mr. Oladoye Joshua, told the court that the accused allegedly hit the deceased with a stool which killed him.
However, the plea of the accused person was not taken by the court.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. Habibat Bashiru, ordered that she should be remanded in Ilesa prison custody and adjourned the case till October 6, 2014 for mention.
Meanwhile, a 20-year-old man, Omisore Anthony, has been remanded in prison custody for allegedly raping one Ebunoluwa in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
Anthony was alleged to have committed the offence on May 28, 2014 at Alekuwodo area in Osogbo.
The accused person however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge of rape and assault levelled against him.
His counsel, Mrs Muslimat Nagode, urged the court to grant her client bail, assuring that he would not jump bail.
But, the Magistrate, Mr. Olusola Aluko, refused the oral application of the counsel and ordered that the accused person be remanded at Ilesa prison.
The case was adjourned till July 15, 2014 for mention.
