Oscar Pistorius Breaks Twitter Silence, Quotes Austrian Psychiatrist

Oscar Pistorius broke a recent Twitter silence Sunday, tweeting for the first time since Feb. 14, 2014 – one year to the day after he shot and killed his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.
Three tweets, arriving in succession …

And a passage from an Austrian psychiatrist and Holocaust survivor:

The passage comes from Viktor Frankl's book "Man's Search for Meaning," written after his time served in Auschwitz, in which he lays out his concept known as Logotherapy. One of its basic principles is that "life has meaning under all circumstances, even the most miserable ones."
Since March, Pistorius has been on trial for the murder of Steenkamp, who he shot and killed in the early morning hours of Valentine's Day last year. Pistorius claims he fired his Taurus 9mm pistol through a locked bathroom door, fearing an intruder was on the other side. The prosecution alleges Pistorius shot out of anger, knowing it was Steenkamp, not an intruder, hiding inside the bathroom.
After 39 days in court, separated by a 30-day psychiatric evaluation, the defense finally rested on July 8. Court will reconvene on Aug. 7, when it's expected both sides will make their closing arguments.
A verdict is expected shortly thereafter.
