Police Arrest Man For Defiling Minor In Ogun
Detectives attached to the
Obalende Division of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested one
Qudus Giwa of Sabo Area Ijebu Ode for defiling a 15-year-old girl, on
Friday, July 25.
The incident occurred on July 21 at Sabo Area Ijebu Ode when the suspect forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of the young victim.
This is contained in a press statement by the state’s Police Public Relations Officers, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi.
He said, “The courage of the victim to personally report the matter to the police was commendable as many victims of similar experience don’t have such a courage to report or notify the concerned agencies or their parents.”
Giwa, 22, has been transferred to the anti-Human Trafficking and Child Labour Unit of the Department of Criminal Investigation Eleweran Abeokuta for proper prosecution and investigation as directed by the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State, CP Ikemefuna Okoye.
He commended the girl for her courage to report the matter to the police not minding any social stigma, and promised to make sure that justice was done in the case.
He has also reassured the general public in the state of adequate security of lives and property and proper investigation of all cases reported to the police in the state.
