U-23 Screening: Siasia Drops Overaged Eduok
Samson Siasia have dropped Federation Cup MVP and top scorer, Emem Eduok, from the U-23 national team due to age discrepancies, according to the media spokesman of team Timi Ebikagboro.
Ebikagboro stated that the Dolphins forward was born on the 31st January 1994, which means he is eligible to play for the team.
Another source however revealed that his international passport reads 31st August 1992.
It was gathered that before Siasia considers a player eligibile, discrepancies such as above, needs to be resolved, even if a player is technically eligible.
The team, under the watchful eye of Samson Siasia, has been training in Abuja since 24th November 2014.
Over 1,000 domestic league players have so far attended screening at the Dream Team VI camp which will go on Christmas break by 20th December.
Siasia read a riot act to the home based players, insisting that they all report to camp in the new week.
Reports also suggests that foreign based professionals would soon join the team.
The former Super Eagles boss declared that selected players must come with their international passports when reporting to camp on the 4 January 2014.
Nigerian Premier League players must also add their original league licenses.
