U-23 Screening: Siasia Drops Overaged Eduok

Samson Siasia have dropped Federa­tion Cup MVP and top scorer, Emem Eduok, from the U-23 national team due to age dis­crepancies, according to the media spokesman of team Timi Ebikagboro. Ebikagboro stated that the Dolphins forward was born on the 31st January 1994, which means he is el­igible to play for the team. Another source however revealed that his interna­tional passport reads 31st August 1992. It was gathered that before Siasia considers a player eligibile, discrepan­cies such as above, needs to be resolved, even if a player is technically eli­gible. The team, under the watchful eye of Samson Siasia, has been training in Abuja since 24th Novem­ber 2014. Over 1,000 domestic league players have so far attended screening at the Dream Team VI camp which will go on Christ­mas break by 20th Decem­ber. Siasia read a riot act to the home based players, insisting that they all report to camp in the new week. Reports also suggests that foreign based profes­sionals would soon join the team. The former Super Eagles boss declared that selected players must come with their international passports when reporting to camp on the 4 January 2014.
