With the super Falcons getting the needed reinforcement ahead of Friday’s clash against Mali, the arrival of France-based Striker Desire Oparanozie has given the team a much needed boost but refuses to set any target for the qualifier.
The player who helped Nigeria to another title in the African Women Champions revealed that she has come to contribute her quota in order to ensure the Falcons hit the desired height.
Desire rejected any notion of seeking to gain any personal glory, but insists that the team should always come first before the individual. She also refused to set any personal target ahead of the crunch tie.
” The plan has always been the way forward, how to succeed and come out of every game with our head held high. Just like evry other contest, our plan is to gain qualifiation for the All Africa Game.
” Football is not an individual game but a team Sport and asking for a personal target is like assuming I’ll do the job alone. Without the help of my teammates there’s barely very little I can do.
” So as an Individual I believe in the team and am quite certain its a mutual feeling. We will work together as a team and achieve all our set goals.”
