The early morning fire, which started at the third floor of the Federal Mortgage Bank, located at Maman Kontagora House, Broad Street on Lagos Island, continued to rage several hours after it started.
It was learnt that the inferno started around 9am on Wednesday from a generator on the third floor of the complex and spread to the fifth floor, where the banking hall is located.
As of 12.30pm, the fire had extended to the eighth floor.
A law firm and NDIC office in the complex are also affected.
An employee of the bank, who identified himself as Muyiwa, said no casualty had been recorded.
Firefighters are making frantic efforts to put out the outbreak.
