Enugu Rangers CEO Chukwu, opens up on Imama arrest by Police
Chukwu told Scorenigeria Rangers have taken measures to recover club property still in the possession of their former coach.
He said Imama has refused to return the club’s official car and keys to his official residence more than three months after he left the service of the club.
“It is three months now since Imama left Rangers after he was relieved of his managerial role,” Chukwu revealed.
“He left with the club’s official car and the keys to his official accommodation.
“We have written to him three times to return the vehicle and house keys, but he has refused to comply.
“Right now our chief coach does not have an official car.
“The owner of the house has been asking us to come and remove our things and surrender the keys.
“But we cannot do that in the absence of Imama who owns the items in the house.”
Imama was picked up in Abuja on Wednesday by security operatives and will be taken down to Enugu.
There have been suggestions ‘The Flying Antelopes’ are indebted to the Super Eagles assistant coach.
Chukwu neither confirmed nor denied Rangers owing their former coach his contractual entitlements, but stressed there are procedures to demand one’s claims.
“There are more civilised ways of demanding for your right,” he argued.
“You don’t just take away company’s property simply because the company is owing you.
“Instead, you hand over whatever company property in your possession and then write officially asking for your settlement.”
