Food, Job, Insecurities Worse Than Boko Haram – Methodist Church
The National President of the National Men’s Fellowship of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Sir. Dr. Samuel Ejiofor, has remarked that the threats posed by food and job insecurities in Nigeria today were worse than the menace of Boko Haram terrorist sect.
Ejiofor who made the remarks yesterday in Umuahia during a press conference after the Fellowship’s 18th National Conference noted that unless something urgent was done to address the looming job loss occasioned by the dwindling oil price as well as food scarcity, Nigeria might explode any time soon.
He blamed politicians for paying lip services to the problems of the country and called for collaboration between the church and government as a way out of the country’s many woes.
Dr. Ejiofor also accused politicians of responsibility for the security challenges and other problems bedeviling the country due to what he called their double standards.

His words, “Politicians recruit thugs who they use and dump after elections , and these thugs later become problem for the society by resorting to all sorts of violent crimes.”
He also tongue- lashed various political parties for their failure to observe internal democracy which he noted, had contributed in compounding the country’s political woes.
On the activities of Boko Haram, he said the terror group was more political than religious , and disagreed with those who think President Goodluck Jonathan is weak handling the sect.
He said, “Those politicians who threatened to make the country ungovernable should they fail in the 2011 election ” should be held responsible.
Ejiofor however, expressed hope that the 2015 elections would be peaceful , and called for more prayers for its success and the unity of Nigeria.
